Batteries from Lab Scale to Prototype Workshop

Members of the Young Battery 3S community participated in the international workshop “Batteries from Lab Scale to Prototype,” organized as part of the TwinBat project. The workshop brought together researchers, students, and industry professionals to discuss the practical and technical challenges of moving battery technologies from laboratory-scale research toward prototype and industrial application.

Technical Seminars and Site Visits

The workshop programme combined technical seminars with site visits, giving participants the opportunity to connect academic knowledge with real production and testing environments. YB3S members found the seminar sessions particularly valuable for deepening their understanding of battery scale-up challenges, while the accompanying technical visits provided a broader, hands-on perspective on the topics discussed.

Networking with Industry Professionals

Alongside the technical programme, the workshop’s networking sessions gave YB3S members the chance to engage directly with sector professionals working across different areas of battery production and research. These conversations offered practical insight into industrial perspectives that complement the academic focus of the YB3S community.

During one of these sessions, Mathieu, a speaker at the event, joined the YB3S team for a group photograph as a gesture of support for the community’s work.

Members also had the opportunity to connect with academics from institutions in Osmaniye and Istanbul.

Closing Session

The workshop concluded with a final panel session, bringing together the key themes discussed throughout the programme.

Supporting Scientific Exchange within YB3S

Participation in workshops such as this one supports one of YB3S’s central goals: connecting young researchers with the industrial and academic networks that shape the future of battery technology. Beyond the technical content, events like this help members build the professional relationships and practical understanding that complement their academic training in energy storage.
